I’ve been on the course for the past 4 months and learned a wide range of IT skills, eg, creating Word documents, making cards and posters, emailing anything and everything! and most importantly it helped me find work.
What got me started was receiving an LMH booklet through the post and seeing an advert about a tenant who’d found work. I had been unemployed for over 12 months after being made redundant from a long term job with Royal Mail. Reading the booklet got me thinking that maybe I should get in touch and try and do something to boost my confidence and my chances of getting a job.
Right from the start the staff were great with me and convinced me to give the IT course a go – and as well as doing the course with Kevin twice a week (at The Observatory and Dalemeadow which is right on my doorstep) I’ve been on the V.I.P. course which helps people back into work – I’ve gained a First Aid Certificate – I’m about to start CSCS course AND I’ve started a job at Sainsbury’s! It’s the busiest I’ve been since leaving work and I’ve enjoyed the whole experience.
